At the Museum: Paris Legion 100th Anniversary Quilt

This quilt commemorating the Paris Legion’s 100th anniversary, was designed and created by Donna Campbell (nee Verschoor).

The main panel is the train bridge over the Grand, with two figures representing an active member of the Canadian military and a Veteran Member, on their way to the Legion.

The three side panels show the Legion house recreated as it was when donated by the Smoke brothers, the cenotaph in the downtown of Paris and a thoughtful collage of articles and images representing important events and people related to the legion, Paris and the wars.

Poppies are scattered throughout this quilt…. for remembrance.

This quilt is currently displayed at the museum.
